Elope in Santorini, Just the Two of You
AION is a private elopement venue on the caldera side of Fira, unusually close to the water. The terrace is reserved for the two of you, your officiant and your photographer — vows at golden hour, then a candlelit dinner for two by Chef Iosif. An elopement is not a smaller wedding
It is a different thing entirely. A wedding is built by addition — more chairs, more courses, more logistics. An elopement is built by subtraction, until only the essential part remains: two people, a promise, and somewhere worth saying it. Our whole venue is designed around that remainder. The terrace sits on the caldera side of Fira, close to the sea rather than high on the cliff, and when you book it, it is yours — no other couple at the next table, no queue waiting for your view.
That privacy is the real product. Anyone can find a dramatic view in Santorini; what is hard to find is a dramatic view you are not sharing with a crowd.

What do you need to elope in Santorini?
Less than you think. The two of you. An officiant — either for a civil ceremony that is legally binding, or for a symbolic ceremony with no paperwork, which many eloping couples choose after marrying legally at home. A photographer, because this is the one wedding where nobody else will be taking pictures. We take care of the rest: the set-up, champagne and glasses from your venue package, music if you want it, staff who know when to appear and when to vanish.
If parents or a handful of friends are coming after all, you are drifting toward a different evening — read micro weddings at ΑΙΩΝ or our guide to choosing between an elopement and a micro wedding.
How the evening runs
You come down in the late afternoon — through Fira's lanes on foot, or by cable car with the caldera opening below you. Vows happen at golden hour, when the light is warm but the sun has not yet dropped. Then champagne, and a slow walk with your photographer while the sky does what Santorini's sky does. By the time you sit down to dinner for two, the candles matter, and Chef Iosif's kitchen sends out the kind of meal that makes you stay until the stars are fully out.
Want the adventure version?
Because we stand at the old port (Ormos Firon), near sea level, we can build your elopement around the water itself: a yacht cruise across the caldera before your vows, or slipping away by boat afterwards while the cliffs turn violet behind you. It is the part couples talk about for years — the day they got married and sailed a volcano's flooded crater. We cover the combination in detail in the yacht and venue wedding guide.

What does it cost to elope at ΑΙΩΝ?
Rates start at €500 for an hour and, unusually for the island, stay flat all year — an August elopement costs what a November one does, and rescheduling is free. Most eloping couples start with the shorter venue rental packages, then add dinner. Everything begins the same way: tell us your date, and we answer with exact numbers.
