Weddings at ΑΙΩΝ · caldera side of Fira

Your Santorini Wedding, One Private Terrace

A wedding at AION (ΑΙΩΝ) is one private evening on a caldera-side terrace in Fira: a ceremony for up to 30 guests with chairs and umbrellas provided, then one long reception table as the sun drops toward the Aegean. We host year-round at flat rates with free rescheduling, and dinner comes from Chef Iosif of Lomvranos Restaurant.

The shape of an evening here

Every wedding we host follows the same simple arc, because the terrace itself suggests it. Your guests come down in the late afternoon — on foot through Fira's lanes, by the cable car, or by boat into the old port (Ormos Firon) right beside us. The ceremony happens while the light is still gold, with the caldera and the Nea Kameni volcano behind you instead of a wall. Then, while you are being photographed against the water, we quietly reset the terrace: the ceremony chairs regroup around one long table, the candles come out, and dinner begins at the exact hour Santorini is famous for.

That is the whole design. No ballroom to move to, no second venue, no timeline with forty entries. One terrace, one ceremony, one table, one sunset — and a Santorini family that has spent more than twenty years in the wedding industry making that single evening go right.

What does the ceremony itself look like?

For ceremonies of up to 30 guests we provide the chairs, and umbrellas for shade while the afternoon sun is still strong. Book the Obsidian package and the arch goes up, dressed in white curtains, framing the two of you against open water. There is a music system for your processional, staff on hand from first guest to last, and a restroom on site — small things, but they are the difference between a view and a venue.

The format of the ceremony is entirely yours to choose, and each one works differently on this terrace. That is why we keep a separate page for each:

Then the table

After the vows, dinner is not an afterthought — on this terrace it is the second half of the wedding. White cloths for the chairs and tables are included in our packages, and the menus are created by Chef Iosif, owner of Lomvranos Restaurant, a kitchen Fira has trusted for years. Order à la carte on the night or pre-book meal and drinks packages so nobody is thinking about a bill mid-sunset; every dietary and religious preference is accommodated. The full dinner side of the evening lives on the reception page.

When should you book — and what will it cost?

We are open all year round, and unlike most of the island we do not raise prices from June to September: the rate you are quoted in February is the rate in August. As of 2026, venue rental starts at €500 for one hour, €900 for two and €1,300 for three — tell us your date and guest count and we reply with the exact figure for it. If plans change, rescheduling to another date is free. Start with the Ormos, Aion and Obsidian venue rental packages to see what each hour includes, then read the honest numbers in our Santorini wedding cost guide. Still choosing where on the island to marry? Our Oia vs Imerovigli vs Fira comparison weighs the three villages honestly.

Who runs your day?

We do — we are a Santorini family, and this terrace is ours. Our staff are with you through the evening: the set-up, the music cue, the reset from ceremony to dinner, the timing of each course against the light. For a full wedding we still recommend hiring a planner for everything beyond the venue — legalities, hair and make-up, transport across the island — and we work with trusted local planners who book us often and know the terrace as well as we do.

How do you and your guests arrive?

By land or by sea — and that choice becomes part of the wedding. Most guests walk down or take the cable car from Fira town; boats come into the old port right beside the venue, and a yacht cruise before or after your ceremony is a combination we arrange often. Because we sit close to sea level rather than at the top of hundreds of cliff steps, grandparents and children make the trip without drama.
